Atanu Ghosh

Winner of numerous national and international awards, the great Indian filmmaker Atanu Ghosh’s works reflect an urge for exploring unique complexities of human behaviour pitted against the backdrop of rapidly changing society. He has directed some 23 telefilms. He has also worked as scriptwriter and editor for many eminent directors. Also, he has directed over 30 documentary and corporate films for many reputed organisations.
Hereceived the Doordarshan National Award for Best Children's telefilm Aar ekBampi in 2002. Another telefilm, Akashchhoan, was selected for the 10th International Kolkata Film Festival, 2004. Sumitra Online was selected for the Telesamman Award for the Best Telefilm of 2005, and Asamapto for Best Direction in 2006. MeghBrishtiRodh fetched him the coveted RAPA Award for Best screenplay. He was awarded the prestigious Shyamal Sen SmritiSamman in 2008.
His debut feature film, AngshumanerChhobi (2009) was selected in the Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India (2009) as well as in Competitive Section, was awarded the prestigious Aravindan Puraskaram for the Best debut film of 2009, the LankeshChitraPrashasti (Karnataka State Award for India's Best Debut Director ) Bengal Film Journalist Award as well as Audience Award (Rainbow Film Festival, London) besides 13 other national and international awards. His second film TakhanTeish(2011) was screened at film festivals in Shanghai, Osaka and other places. His third film RupkathaNoy was nominated for the FIPRESCI Award for Best Indian Film 2013, was officially selected in many film festivals including Shanghai International Film Festival,Dhaka International Film Festival and many others. It also received four Filmfare Awards. His fourth film, EkPhaaliRodh (2014), had its World Premiere at Shanghai International Film Festival in June 2014.
He received a National Film Award in the Best Film category for his 2018 movie Mayurakshi. It also received four Filmfare Awards Mayurakshi was awarded the prestigious ChitraBharathi for the Best Indian Cinema Award of 2018,the WBFJA (West Bengal Film Journalists' Association) besides 3 international nominations.

HiranMitra

Sir HiranMitra is known for hissignificant contribution to the visual stimulus in eastern Indian films, television, theatreand literature since 1980. He is also known to have defined a benchmark for book cover design for contemporary Bengali literature.His paintings are statements on the human condition and the twilight zones of reality and time. Bold brush strokes, layered washes and sprays and unconventional use of acrylic and industrial paints characterize his paintings. He is part of the Open Window Artist group and has been part of the Painters 80 Artist group in Kolkata. As an art director some of his notable films are NECKLACE, MOHANAGAR@KOLKATA, CHATURANGA, PROTIBEEMBO etc.

Amitava Nag

Amitava Nag is an independent film criticand writes extensively on cinema for Outlook, CNN IBNLive, The Statesman, Deep Focus and Dear Cinema, to name some. He is one of the founder-members of the film magazine SILHOUETTE and its current editor as well. He has authored several books on Indian cinema, published by reputed publishing house like Harper Collins. He also writes poetry and short fiction in Bengali and English for several magazines both national and international. Some of his famous books are:-

Siladitya Sen

Siladitya Sen is a senior film scholar, a critic,analyst,journalist,jury member and literary editor working in Ananda Bazar group.He has been one of the editors of cinema in India,an NFDC publication and served on jury for various international film festivals which includes National Film Award ,Indian Panoroma,FCCI award at HBFF and Mumbai International Film Festival.He has been a widely acclaimed author of books on Indian cinema and literature and considered an authority on Mrinal Sen. He wrote the book MRINAL SEN ER FILM JATRA and he is also the co author of the book INDIAN FILM CULTURE: INDIAN CINEMA.

Indrasis Acharya

Indrasis Acharya is an Indian film director working in Bengali cinema.He came to the prominence after directing his first feature film, BILU RAKKHOSH, which won acclaim in both national and international sphere. He next worked in PUPA which got rave reviews and won many awards and accolades. It was screened on Hanoi International Film Festival, Kolkata International Film Festival and many more. PUPA won five best films, two best directors and many other awards. Indrasis Acharya’s third film was ‘THE PARCEL’ for which he won the best director award (Hiralal Sen Memorial) at the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival. He is currently working on his next film titled ‘MAYA BHOY’ with Tota Roy Chowdhury, Rahul and Aparajita Ghosh Das.

Prabuddha Banerjee is a very popular music director and composer who has been predominantly working in Bollywood as well as in Bengali Film Industry. He won Filmfare award for his excellent background score in the film PHORING.He also received great feedback from the audience for the background scores of NAGARKIRTAN, JYESTHOPUTRA and KANTTHO.Some of his notable works are DEBI, EKTI TARAR KHONJE,VIA DARJEELING etc.

Biplab Das gupta

Veteran actor BiplabDasgupta needs no introduction. He has been working as an actor for over two decades now. Not only in films, he has been simultaneously working for television as well as theatre.
